Instagram Stories have become a popular way to share fleeting moments with your followers. However, sometimes you want to keep certain stories visible on your profile for a longer period. This is where Instagram Highlights come in handy. Highlights are curated collections of your past stories that you can feature on your profile. Open Your Instagram App
First and foremost, make sure you have the Instagram app installed on your mobile device. Open the app, and log in to your account if you aren’t already
Create a Story
To add a story to highlights, you must first have a story to add. Here’s how to create one
a. Tap on your profile picture in the top-left corner of the screen or swipe right from your feed to access the Stories camera.
b. Take a photo or video by tapping the shutter button or holding it to record a video.
c. When you’re satisfied with your story, tap the “Your Story” button at the bottom of the screen. This will post your story, and it will be visible to your followers for 24 hours.
Adding a Story to Highlights
Now that you have created a story, it’s time to add it to your highlights:
a. Tap on the “+ New” button. This will allow you to select stories from your archived stories that you want to add to your highlights.
b. A list of your archived stories will appear, organized by date. Select the story or stories you want to add to your highlight by tapping on them. You can select multiple stories if you want to create a series.
c. Once you’ve selected the stories, tap the “Next” button.
d. Now, you can choose a cover image and add a title for your highlight. The cover image will be the thumbnail that represents your highlight on your profile, so choose something that represents the content.
e. After customizing your highlight, tap the “Add” button. Your selected stories are now added to the highlight, and it will appear on your profile for your followers to see.
Edit or Remove Highlights
You can edit or remove highlights at any time:
a. Go to your profile.
b. Scroll down to the “Story Highlights” section and tap the highlight you want to edit or remove.
c. Tap the three dots (more options) icon in the bottom right corner of the highlight.
d. To edit, select “Edit Highlight.” You can change the cover image, title, or add/remove stories.
e. To remove, select “Delete Highlight.” Confirm your decision, and the highlight will be removed from your profile.
